Ten anticipated horror films coming out this year

New year, new me? More like new year, new horrors!
It’s a brand new year which means lots of brand spanking new horrors to frighten the living day light out of us! Here are some of the most anticipated films coming out this year!
1. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

28 Years Later was one the biggest films of 2025 and its sequel is set to be another smash hit. The last film ended on an incredibly unique and bizarre cliffhanger when Spike ran into a cult of Jimmy Savile wannabes. With Spike now being inducted into the gang, and Dr. Kelson making a discovery that could change the world, The Bone Temple is set to an action-packed adventure.
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is set to release on the 14th of January.
2. Dooba Dooba

If you’re a fan of dark horrors that leave you reeling for days, then this film sounds like it will right up your street. The film, which is shot entirely on in-home security cameras, follows Anna, who ends up being tortured by the teenager she’s supposed to be looking after. Let’s just hope the parents at least paid her well!
Dooba Dooba is set to release on the 23rd of January.
3. Send Help

A young woman and her arrogant and narcissistic boss end up stranded on a dessert island after a plane crash. After what feels like a lifetime of ridicule, the woman is out for revenge and is set of giving her a boss a taste of his own medicine. If you’ve ever had a difficult boss, then you’ll get a lot of enjoyment out of this one.
Send Help is set to release on the 30th of January.
4. Psycho Killer

A widowed highway patrol officer is on a mission to find the man who murdered her husband. But when her quest leads to a sadistic killer, she soon discovers that he’s even more sick and twisted than anyone could have ever imagined. If you like psychological films about revenge, then you’ll probably love this one.
Psycho Killer is set to release on the 20th of February.
5. Scream 7

Sidney Prescot, who has managed to survive nine Ghostface killers, has built a beautiful life in the suburbs with her family. But when a new Ghostface targets her teenage daughter, Sidney will once again have to fight to the death to protect her family. Can’t a girl catch a break?
Scream 7 is set to release on the 27th of February.
6. The Bride!

Set in Chicago in the 1930s, a scientist brings a murdered woman back to life to be a companion for Frankenstein’s monster. The film might not be out yet, but I bet it’s going to be the couples Halloween costume of the year!
The Bride is set to realise on the 6th of March.
7. Ready or Not 2: Here I Come

Grace might have survived the Le Domas family, but now she has to fight off four rival families who are hunting her to claim the High Seat of the Council. Not only Grace must fight to keep herself alive, but she also has to fight to keep her estranged sister, Faith, by her side. Nothing like a deadly game of hide and seek to bring the family back together!
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is set to release on the 10th of April.
8. Hokum

A horror novelist travels to an Inn in Ireland to spread his parents ashes, not knowing that the place is rumoured to be haunted. A classic ghost scary that tackles grief? Count me in!
Hokum is set to release on the 1st of May.
9. Scary Movie 6

This one has millennials bursting with excitement! We don’t know much about the storyline yet, but we do know that it will feature horror icons such as Pennywise. With a combination of nostalgia, comedy, and scares, this will certainly be a fun one!
Scary 6 is set to release on the 12th of June.
10. Clayface

Clayface, a classic DC villain, is getting his own film! We don’t know a great deal about the film’s storyline yet, but with Mike Flanagan credited as one of the writers, this film is set to be a body horror masterpiece. Comic book fans and horror fans reunite!
