Top Ten Final Destination Deaths

The Final Destination films are a staple for lovers of gore and OTT deaths. Whether you grew up loving the series or watched them later in life, there's bound to be at least one death that stuck with you and made you fear something completely normal.  

And with Final Destination Bloodlines arriving to cinemas soon, what better time to make a trip down memory lane with a list of my top ten deaths?  

If you're reading this and have never seen any of The Final Destination films then you're missing out on lots of trauma and fun and should binge watch them all this instant. Each film will start with a protagonist having a premonition of a deadly disaster. After they've had the premonition, they'll usually manage to convince others who died in the vision to escape. But their lucky escape always turns out to be not so lucky, and one by one all the characters who were meant to die in the big disaster, start to die in freak accidents.  

There are a LOT of deaths in this franchise but below is my list of some of my favorite/ most brutal.

As a rule, I haven’t included any deaths in any of the premonitions.  

10. Billy Hitchcock, Final Destination, 2000

Poor Billy. He was so cute in his little backwards cap. Unfortunately, being a total sweetie pie won’t stop you from getting decapitated. Watch Billy’s accidental beheading below:

9. Carter Daniels, The Final Destination, 2009

The Final Destination is the fourth film in the franchise and is probably the weakest one thanks to the cheap 3D effects. But one great thing about the film is this satisfying death. Carter is a horrible human being. He’s a neo-Nazi, he’s racist and is an all-round awful man. While a lot of the people who die in this franchise deserved to live, he certainly wasn’t one of them. 8. Todd Waggner, Final Destination, 2000

This death might not be the bloodiest but it is one of the most haunting deaths in the franchise. You can really feel Todd’s pain and fear in this scene and that fact that he was such a nice guy makes it even more upsetting. You can watch Todd’s death below, but there is a chance you’ll be too scared to go to your bathroom afterwards:    

7. Nora Carpenter, Final Destination 2, 2003

Nora didn’t have it easy. Already a widow, she then had to witness her son being crushed by a falling windowpane. As if that wasn’t enough, right before having her head cut off by an elevator, some old creep starts sniffing her hair! Watch Nora’s death below and be motivated to take the stairs from now on:

6. Ian Mckinley, Final Destination 3, 2006

Ian is the third film's antagonist.  While his rage is misdirected, it’s easy to sympathize with him when you remember he witnessed his girlfriend die. He’s also very attractive. This isn't relevant to his death, but I think it’s important we acknowledge it.  Watch this handsome scene boy's demise below:

5. Erin Ulmer, Final Destination 3, 2006

Erin was the ultimate cool, emo, girl. With her beautiful copper hair and kohl-lined eyes, it’s easy to see why Ian wanted to avenge her. Watch Erin’s nail biting (sorry) death below:

4. Lewis Romero, Final Destination 3, 2006

The next time a gym bro tries to shame you for being a couch potato just show them this. Enough said. Watch Lewis crush new weights (again, sorry) below:  

3. Candice Hopper, Final Destination 5, 2011

This is one of the most bone-chilling and shocking deaths in the franchise. Candice was doing a great job with her gymnastics routine until it all went horribly wrong. Watch Candice’s not-so-perfect landing below:  

2. Olivia Castle, Final Destination 5, 2011

This scene will make even those with the highest gore tolerance cringe! If you wear glasses and have ever thought about getting laser eye surgery, watch Olivia’s death below and learn to embrace your specs:  

1. Ashley Freund and Ashlyn Halperin, Final Destination 3, 2006

What is it really ever going to be anything else? Perhaps the most famous death scene in the franchise, this was the ultimate psa for sunbed-loving millennials.  While a lot of the other deaths were pretty quick, these poor girls suffered a very long and very hot demise. Watch this very cripsy death scene below:
